Our team

John Healy
Managing Director

John Healy is a Director of the Abbey Group. He has extensive knowledge of the tourism industry, having served for over 25 years at a senior level. He was a director of Tourism Ireland Limited, the body responsible for marketing the island of Ireland overseas as a holiday and business tourism destination, from 2011 to 2015.

He is a past Chairman of ITIC – the Irish Tourist Industry Confederation – the key representative body for the tourism industry in Ireland. He has previously served as president of the Incoming Tour Operators Association-Ireland and was a member of the Business Tourism Forum. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Marije Snow
Director of Events

An established event professional, Marije has 20 years' experience working in the industry. She has wide-ranging expertise in all aspects of Event management from project management, large scale logistics to financial management and high-end client experiences.

Marije has successfully led and managed some of Abbey's largest events. Marije has been involved in all the American College Football Events since the 2012 Emerald Classic between Notre Dame and Navy. Her goal is always to deliver a memorable event through the eyes of her clients and to make it the best that it can be.

Michelle Cunningham
Operations Manager

Michelle is an accomplished, highly experienced event and project manager with almost 20 years of experience. Originally from Australia but now based in Dublin, Michelle joined the events team in 2023. Prior to that, she worked as part of the conference team. Michelle uses effective and positive communication to build strong relationships and has an inherent desire to get every detail right.

Michelle is extremely self-motivated and her work ethic is second to none. She is proactive at identifying issues, risks and faults by picking apart ideas, planning for what could go wrong and fixing problems before they happen with the poise, calm and composure to make it all happen with a smile!

Sinead McKeaney
Senior Event Executive

Sinead is an accomplished events professional with extensive experience across diverse sectors. Sinead is a results-driven individual with a proven track record in the event industry, demonstrating exceptional skills in managing logistics, coordinating resources, and ensuring seamless event execution. She excels in stakeholder communication, financial management, and team leadership, consistently committed to excellence in every aspect of event operations.

With a strong background in hospitality event management, Sinead brings creativity and meticulous attention to detail to every project. Adaptable to dynamic, fast-paced environments, Sinead thrives in challenging situations and delivers outstanding results.

Hugh Boyle
Events Executive

Hugh joined Abbey Group Events Department at the beginning of 2023 and was part of the team that delivered a highly successful American College Football Classic involving Notre Dame and Navy. Graduated in 2021 with bachelor’s degree in business with Events Management from Technological University of the Shannon, his interests in sporting events brought him to Dublin where he joined the Abbey team.

He is passionate about creating memorable experiences for clients and guests alike and has a keen eye for detail and is skilled in managing events from conception to execution. Hugh is committed to delivering high-quality events that exceed expectations.

Eoin Conlan
Events Execuitve

A career driven people-person with proven leadership skills, Eoin has a broad range of experience in the Tourism and Events sectors. Eoin has leveraged his communication skills built as a guide, and his previous experience as an Event Manager and interim company director to deliver unforgettable experiences with a key focus on client relations, branding and event logistics.

His goal is to bring truly bespoke events to life that delight clients, and to build teams of passionate people to do the same.

Niamh Whelan
Events Execuitve

With a strong foundation in accommodation management, transport logistics, and operations, Niamh brings a detailed-oriented and client-focused approach to her current role as an Events Executive at Abbey. Her background has equipped her with the practical skills and strategic insight to manage complex logistics, coordinate across multiple teams, and deliver seamless experiencesтАФskills that are invaluable in the dynamic world of event planning.

In operations, she has consistently implemented process improvements and coordinated cross-functional teams to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. At Abbey, she brings that same level of organization, adaptability, and passion for service excellence to create memorable, well-executed events from concept to completion.

Gaia Gamba
Event Executive

Gaia is an experienced tourism professional with a strong background in both group coordination and individual tour management. Having transitioned from handling large-scale group logistics to curating bespoke visits and guided experiences, she offers a well-rounded skill set rooted in adaptability, client service, and operational efficiency.

With a natural flair for communication, she works well under pressure and thrives in team-oriented environments, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional visitor experiences and a strong commitment to professionalism, attention to detail, and continuous growth within the tourism and event industry.

Christopher Dooley
Graphic Designer

Chris joined the Abbey Conference & Events team in 2023, bringing over 6 years of graphic design experience, particularly in brand identity. He brings a new level of creativity to the events he works on and is consistently keeping up to date with the latest trends, software and skills a designer needs.

A great team player who works on his own initiative and tackles problems with a positive attitude. He is skilled at translating the clients needs & objectives into polished, effective design solutions that elevate each event’s visual identity.

Amanda Killan
Sponsorship Manager

Amanda is an energetic, experienced project and events manager, supporting sales, marketing, and operational excellence, delivering industry-recognised conferences and exhibitions spanning the globe. Committed to building strong relationships with clients.

Amanda works closely with industry stakeholders, governments, and professionals, connecting networks for business growth and supporting ROI.

Aaron Sundararajan
Management Accountant

Aaron is just one of five qualified accountants in the Abbey Group and brings over eight years of dedicated service to our financial operations. A part-qualified ACCA finalist, Aaron plays a vital role in our monthly management reporting, balance sheet management, and budgeting processes.

He is our key contact for all financial advice and his expertise in multi-currency accounting, VAT handling and strong analytical capabilities have strengthened our financial controls.
